The preliminary studies show that there are hundreds of ICCAs in different parts of the country. They exist in different forms (such as wetlands, forest, sacred lands, religious forest/sites, pasture lands, corridors etc) and types (such as large, medium and small) in different eco-regions of the country (namely in mountain, hill and Terai). Until now, a total of 36 ICACs representing different forms and in eco-regions have been identified.
